Laser Hair Removal · Coming August 1
Laser Hair Removal in Nashville & Mount Juliet
Medical-grade laser hair reduction — done by an RN, with real consultation on whether it's the right fit for your skin and hair before you commit to a package.
What it is
How laser hair removal actually works.
Laser hair removal targets the pigment in the hair follicle with a specific wavelength of light, heating and disabling the follicle so it can no longer produce hair. Because hair grows in cycles, treatments are spaced 4–6 weeks apart, and a series is required to catch each follicle in its active phase.
Done properly, laser hair removal is safe, comfortable (with today's cooling technology), and produces long-lasting reduction — 70–90% permanent reduction is realistic for most patients after a full series.
Who it's for
Where laser hair removal works best.
- Anyone tired of shaving, waxing, or ingrown hairs on face, underarms, legs, bikini, or back
- Patients with dark, coarse hair (best contrast with the laser target)
- People with a range of skin tones — Mercedes will confirm safety at consult
- PCOS-related facial hair (paired with hormone workup if not already addressed)
Who it's not for
When Mercedes will say no.
Laser hair removal is limited for very light blonde, white, or red hair (not enough pigment for the laser to target — waxing or electrolysis may be a better option). It's also paused during pregnancy, on tanned skin, over active infection, or on skin taking photosensitizing medications.
If your goal would take fewer sessions than a full package, she'll tell you — you'll never be sold a series you don't need.
What to expect
Your appointment, start to finish.
Skin is cleansed and shaved (if needed). Protective eyewear is worn. Each pulse feels like a warm snap, cooled by built-in contact cooling. Small areas (upper lip, underarms) take 5–15 minutes; larger areas (full legs, back) take 30–60 minutes.
You may see mild redness or bumpiness around the follicles for a few hours afterward. Hairs shed over the next 1–3 weeks. You'll return every 4–6 weeks for the next session in your series.
Before you book
A note for waxers, pluckers, and threaders.
Waxing, plucking, and threading pull the follicle out at the root. The laser needs an intact follicle with a pigmented hair inside it to work — so if you've been waxing or plucking, there's literally nothing for the laser to target until the follicle regrows on its natural cycle. That cycle can take months per follicle, and they don't all cycle at the same time.
If you've been waxing regularly, expect 8–10 sessions instead of 6, spaced further apart, over 12–18 months instead of 6–9. It's still worth it — but Mercedes will set honest expectations at consult so you know what you're committing to.
Between sessions: shave only. Shaving cuts the hair at the surface but leaves the follicle intact, so it doesn't affect results. Do not wax, pluck, thread, or use depilatory creams from your first consult through the end of your series.
Investment
Pricing.
Pricing reflects RN-led treatment with medical-grade equipment, individualized settings, and the honest consultation that comes before every appointment. We don't discount, run flash sales, or pressure package purchases. Series pricing reflects the fact that laser hair removal is a series — one session in isolation isn't the treatment.
